Scuse my pedantry but the red/green marker Qs are not clearly enough worded imho. E.g. Q5, in relation to the red post on entering a channel/port, you ask " which side do you pass the buoy?" and the choices are "port" and "starboard". There are two separate glitches here:
First, a buoy doesn't have a port or starboard; only a ship or a channel does. You leave the buoy to your port side which means you steer to starboard of it, but it is unclear how to answer the question " which side do you pass it?" At a guess I suspect you have programmmed the answer to be "starboard" meaning you pass it by going to the right of the buoy as you look at it, but that is pretty loose language compared with the uber precise "leave the buoy to your port side".
Second, none of this can describe the correct route to follow anyway. IALA does not talk of passing reds/greens to one side or another. IALA clearly says the red/green merely mark the port and starboard sides of the channel (as you enter port, in iala A). The rule about where you should steer the boat is in colregs, which says you must keep to the stbd side of the channel. So merely passing the red by leaving it to you port side is not enough to be correct. You must in addition be in the starboard side of the channel, in order to be correct.

I have to keep it simple , as there is a limited word count available, ITS a free site. , trying to fit enough in to keep a person safe means limiting words to fit. It meant to be a bit of fun and keeping skill sets up, or learning some new ones.

Ok but I'm not sure how leaving a red buoy to port when entering a channel keeps skill sets up. The only correct thing to do with that red is find the corresponding greens too, then keep to starboard side of the channel. You cannot correctly position your boat by reference only to the red.
