Hi,
I am a new owner of a Quicksilver 510 and have had great fun with it this summer but sadly it now has to come out of the water for the winter. It will be outside in a boatyard on blocks and I was thinking of covering it with a tarpaulin. Also does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do with the battery.

Take the battery off, take it home and put it somewhere where you can run a low voltage item off it like a light. Then recharge every few weeks to stop it fully draining.

Keep it operating and it will last!

I dont recommend a tarpaulin , they cause more damage than they save.
Dirt/dust will get under the cover turning into a large sheet of sand paper, the wind will then scratch your entire boat including glass windows and covers.

You can sponge on neat 'car wash and wax' and dont rinse it off until you are ready to use it next year.

Rain / snow will get in so you need some sort of method to drain it as your bilge pump will not work with the battery removed.

PS
I could be mistaken but I think some plastic petrol tanks fitted to these boats had a recall, if you have an integral plastic tank it might be worth researching to check.

Batteries have a finite recharge life - they do not need to be worked.
You can give it a charge every few months to keep it in best condition but there is no need to discharge it.

Continuously discharging and charging it will shorten its life.

that's a great tip, thanks and yes the fuel tank has been removed and replaced with a 25l tank. Now I think its needs a larger 50 litre one for better distances.
