Easy.... get their money off them early in the day, so it doesn't matter whether they turn up to the meal or not.
Also, ian has been put under the thumb at home (tee hee!), so there should be more chance of tome and his shore captain maintaining control.
Finally, they only have to stagger from the boat to the yacht club and back again, not take a taxi half way across France, to get to the restaurant.

You'll be lucky to see tome before 11 - keep a plate warm for him, if the dressage entry of last year is anything to go on!
