Re: How long in the drink? NM

have no idea how long the water has been inside, but no apparent damage carpets ok no mildew. quite clean rearly. Engine looks very clean...must say it has been stored outside on the hard for at least 2 years.....Oh! brand new 4 wheel trailer...

My first boat was a Searay 215 e c petrol merc 5.7l Did 40 + knots and turned like on rails and was very solid in the water. Brilliant boat. Had a small recess and curtain for porta potti, was v berth and full cockpit cover + tonneau on 4 wheel trailer. Cost me £17,500 and sold it a year later for £16,250 as wanted bigger boat. It was I think, a '96 model. MBM or some other did an article on it in 2000?? It rated very highly in the experts opinions!!

Searay 215 express

boats like this are the entry level cruiser that are "like cars" for non-boaty first timers. You can kip in it, it's diesel, and a convertible . 10+ years old its still gotta be worth sort of £15k if a bit okish, never less that £12, and £20 max unles special factors apply re provenance, history.

They didn't make these in 1989. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Oldest I've ever seen is 1996 I think. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I've got a petrol 215. Like Roy and Ari, I don't think they made them in the 80's so p'raps a misprint. If 1989 and in reasonable nick, I reckon asking price would be about £18,950 for a petrol model and diesel would command p'raps a £3-4k premium. They're very rare birds indeed, I suspect but also a bit slow compared to their petrol brethren, which might knock the premium a bit in a market sector where speed is often one of the main selection criteria.

On the other hand, if there's no loo, maybe she is a previous, 1989 model, in which case £15k absolute tops and possibly £12.5k in my humble and very uninformed opinion.

Presume that if she's been kept out of the water but is full of rain, someone forgot to take the transom bung out? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
