Pure PTFE Shaft Packing

Anyone have any experience with this type of packing on a shaft driven boat?

It's pure PTFE rather than something impregnated with PTFE.

Pure PTFE melts at 327C, you'd have a lot more to worry about than the packing, if it reached that temperature..

It flows so pure PTFE doesn't seem like a good idea.

I think graphite based packing would be best.

I've always understood that PTFE is not a suitable packing for marine drive glands.

Edit: From memory I think PTFE can score the shaft.
