Pulling the Prop Shafts - How I did it...

We did ours with a hacksaw!! mind you our couplings and shafts were scrap anyway, we managed to salvage the props even they were odd ones. Why did you need to remove yours?

To make epoxying her bottom easier, and to stop them from getting pinched (we have quite a lot of our travelling friends close to the yard). Less than 48 hours after they had been removed, they'd been stolen from my back yard! They were covered by the house's contents insurance, though, so I'm getting new shafts and props.

Maybe "they" have a better way than you then?? Should have just left a notice on the transom "Please remove Shafts" To be serious though things are definitely getting bad in the scrap metal disposal game.

They are - the new anti-theft regs for the scrap metal merchants have done f*@k all to curb this...

In my day (Met Copper) the yards got a visit once a week and the "books" looked at. Not saying we found everything, but nothing happens today, apart from the odd road side pull.
