Completely PANTS. Loads of money on a Pershing, and pittance spent on the lights, very 2007. not 2009, colour changing is the only way to go. Lumishore's Rock. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Have to say that I was fuelling in Chichester Marina late in the evening a week or so ago and there was a new Squaddie with underwater lights which just looked so cool.
Seen that one SV . Beautiful boat and great vid. There's another vid on the oceanled channel showing them shooting the vid
The lights on the pershing were ok till lumishore came along. But they're now, relatively, poor relations. Ocean LED just buy circuit boards with a dozen or so capsule LEDs, like you buy from an electronics store, soldered on. Lumishore is all different - hicob LED arrays which means many LEDs fused together in one big blob, and much better heat management so massively more powerful lights. And of course colour changing. Lumiahore would like a vid like the Pershing one - might do one later this summer
Look at the vid and see how far back the blue light on the pershing doesn't stretch, then compare the 1st pic below
2nd pic shows someone midnight swimming. Lights on about 50% brightness. These pics were a bit snap happy - if you spent time setting up shots you could get some fantastic arty pics like the opening titles of a Bond movie. Could shoot some underwater too.
Yup, the vid was billed as showing a blue rooster tail but it wasn't really much good.
Bit like the river of fire that was promised for the millennium celebrations in London. I always said that to get that one right they should have laid an inch of napalm on the river from the Thames Barrier up to Hammersmith Bridge but the fools wouldn't listen - ok there might've been some unwelcome side effects. But the wildlife would have been starting to recover by now and it would have provided work for endless construction firms.
So, how about if I come and bash a couple of arnesons onto the back of your squaddie - I'm sure we could link them up to your engines without too much trouble - and then we could have a proper lumishore rooster tail.
Yup, was there, at Temple tube station roughly. That river of fire just didn't work did it. shame really.
OK re the arnesons plan. Please bring a couple of long jackshafts too Did you see the youtube vid where the outboard is making a "rooster tail" (engine trimmed right up, throttle gunned) that lights up blue. There's also another mothership vid on youtube
Nice clips.
Since you'll be already working hard to fit the arnies, you could do also with some gyrostabs, looking at the mothership behaviour in such sea surface!
Oh, and you should fit a mast to the rib either, considering the navlights arrangement... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It was one of those times when the camera doesn't capture well the sea state. There was quite a swell, and it was millionaire's bay on the Cap D'Antibes which gets the wakes of lots of passing boats, and my boat kept swinging round beam-on to the swell! Hence lots of rocking. Yes, gyro stabs would be lovely - tell Fairline not me!
The tender has a mast for the white light, see first still pic in my post above. We just forgot to attach it in the "rooster tail" video /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
