Whilst out for the first sail yesterday, was busy trying to track down a diesel leak when I literally touched the bellws on the PSS and a lump of water came in - maybe no more than 100cc, but enough to give me a jolt. Are these things that sensitive to touch?

It dripped after it reseated, but a quick session in ahead soon lined things up again.

Yes they are,but you should check that you have enough compression on the seal. There should be a gauge of some kind or at least you should know what length the seal should have when correctly set.

It's a bit of a b**ger to check, but the bellows look well compressed. It is 10 years old.... Perhaps time for a new one?

ours is a high speed rather than the conventional low speed. Water pipe is cut off above LWL so it self bleeds.
