I've got one of these on my boat (fitted by previous owner) but didn't really rate it. I could not see that a sharp disc would cut the rope without any "sawing" action. As I was measuring up for a Stripper, I thought I could try it. So I got some 10mm rope and I was amazed that it worked quite well with just turning the prop by hand. Larger rope was more difficult but then in real life, the prop would have the force of the engine behind it. Question is, what rope do fishermen use on their pots? Larger than 10mm?
