Hi. I need apair of new props for my volvo 290 outdrives. (due to re-engining with diesels)
Any suggestions for somewhere to buy at prices less the the usual volvo rip-off??
Size probably about 15x23 or 15x21

Tico, from what I have been told about re engining from petrol to diesel re 290 legs is, have you changed the gear ratio in the top of the leg? if not the ratio is wrong for a slower revving diesel, by fitting a bigger prop the leg will be chewed to pieces due to the extra torque. You have been Warned!.

That sounds right... Only that the gear reduction is in the lower gear casing.

There's one in Bishops Stortford - Hot Shot Marine International 01279 871212.
Really it doesn't matter where you are any of them will send you what you want.

I haven't compared their prices to my local chandlers but they look okay to me (but then I'm looking for a prop for a 50hp outboard (sorry)).
