I like the displays. What are you using on this one?
£90 Android Tablets. Internal GPS receivers but also had a wifi quark AIS/ GPS receiver linked to them. Gives AIS on Navionics App. Got protective cases that I attached permanently to the dash. You can pop the tablets in and out.I like the displays. What are you using on this one?![]()

All worked a treat! Some people are getting all mucked up in these Sunseeker refitting them like a machine coming out of some Anime cartoons....
In my experience the only used boats you can buy at market value and make money are two possibly three.
A Riva Aquarama (this a writeen cheque as much as a rare Rolex), a Bertram 31 (you can make good money in these), and the possible third being the Itama 38 (as well I know who makes good in these in SoF and Western Italian coast). I think the last two do not have any value in the UK though....
The Brits, and other prime brands are good if you buy at a less then market value and resell at start of the season.
Sunseeker as residuals go has been the worst in this, Fairline especially the Targa perform much better, if you buy a bit less then market price then you can flip over in end of Spring Summer and turn a small margin. All end 90s and 2000s Fairlines are the best to make a profit.
Princess is the over inflated brand of the moment. But it still a hard seller at some asking prices.
I know 56 Predators with HT in rather good nick which sold less then 250k, and most sell at these prices. A good 2002 in Lavagna sold for 230k last June.

You've clearly been to my school of boat refurbJust got to think non boaty sometimes.
Step 2….do a really need to replace it or can I wrap it of dye it!You've clearly been to my school of boat refurbMy default position is step 1... Can I do the job without anything mentioning the words 'boat'nor 'marine'. ? Sometimes it works.... I personally think the current crop of Marine MFD's are good but about 75% overpriced.

Step 2….do a really need to replace it or can I wrap it of dye it!
Leather/ vinyl dyes are a revelation. Some of the wood grained wraps are amazing too. You can spend thousands replacing perfectly functional and well made stuff or a few hundred freshening it up

naff pull out shower tap and non functioning hand pump loo

Waterfall tap £50
Shower mixer £65
Electric loo £155 (reused the nice china bow)
Grey wood grain wrap £12
Dyed the curtain £4
Would gutting it and putting in new units, modern sink etc really bring much more to the party? I don’t think so

I love a bit of wrap. It’s even got a nice feel to it. Oh…..dyed the sofa leather too! ??
If the next owner wasn’t keen….peel it off….do what you want. Make good sense to me anyway
Do you still have her?I agree on lots of that however….Sunseekers are great to renovate (I’ve done 2 now). Have excellent reputation and brand recognition (rightly so), awesome 80s/90s build quality and stunning lines! Just got to buy and renovate appropriately.

That wrap looks really well. Is it much of a job to do?
Funnily enough. My leather sofas are red which with a good number of years in the Med (allegedly) they've gone a kinda pinky colour. I'd like to turn them to a nice beige. Dying looks a great route though getting back to beige may be tricky I guess?

You see that in all the car programs...I’ve always wanted to know, will it come off on your skin and clothes ?That’s the stuff you want

red to beige will take more coats….. Red to grey would be easier ? Rawlins Paints do it 400ml rattle cans. Maybe try one on an inconspicuous area first. Where a mask….it’s mega strong solvent. The vinyl prep they do is good too

No chance. Doesn’t crack…it’s amazing. The substrate needs to be “open” and it just dyes it. I think that’s why it’s in so much solvent…to carry the dye deep into the vinyl/leatherYou see that in all the car programs...I’ve always wanted to know, will it come off on your skin and clothes ?
Ah haa.. Thanks for that. I'll check the stuff out. But I don't want the stripy version.. Just one colourthe wrap is very straightforward. Corners take a bit of practice and bit of heat from a hairdryer. Thing is….if you cockup….peel it off and try again!

Maybe to us traditionalists but there are plenty of younger people these days with plenty of money who this boat would be more of interest to than a stock ‘99 boat. Especially out in some of med waters i’d say.Sorry, but to my eye It's horrible. I'd go as far as to say a good boat ruined.
I'd give him the second hand value of the engines and parts that could be stripped from it.

Ship it out to Dubai!
That's inspired me! I've got a Tridata taking centre stage on my dashboard but I want to add a helm indicator. So my plan was to replace the Tridata (i've understood the need for water temperature) with an I70s but the display isn't inspiring and reasonably priced doesn't appear in their sales blurb!.£90 Android Tablets.
