Hi. I have a ford water moto panther engine fitted in my 20ft open boat which starts and runs lovely. When starting it for the first time it will start with no problems. After running the engine for bit and getting the engine up to a good temperature if I turn the engine off and leave for about five minutes and then try a restart it the engine is really tight and struggling to turn over also the engine temperature is higher than what is was when I turd it off. I then wate about 10 minutes and it turns over and starts easy. I noticed that the oil temperature drops down a bit after the engine gets hot but it does not over heat and it runs fine and sounds great I wonderd if it could possibly be the starter motor playing up when it gets hot?

Yes, the starter can cause this. The engine has higher compression when it's hot and it's more stress on the starter if is getting lazy.
Engine temperature will increase slightly when you switch it off.

Thanks Black Mercury. Somebody told me it could be the starter solinord but I don't know.
