Probably the best solution in the long run but some alteration to "A" will probably be necessary
Fitting a halyard diverter to the mast will increase the angle between the halyard and the forestay so "A" will have to be bent to match this angle.
That may be satisfactory and all that's required.
Alternatively maybe "A" should be bent as above and shortened to the absolute minimum.
If its left as it is it may put too much twisting force on the top swivel. If it's just bent but left full length it may make hoisting the sail difficult if the top swivel jams on the spar.
