Well its good to be back on the water everything worked fine before the winter, so they say everything comes in 3's and i ve got my 3. VolvoPaul all being well will fix one issue, then i need assistance with the other 2 issues and to save confusion i will make 2 threads.

Im not sure exactly how the vacuum pump system works as its one of those things that works and that's it, i've never had a need to look too deep. In the locker where the waste tank is i have a pump that pumps out to sea, i have the white small tank with a motor on the top. when you press the pedal to flush the toilet the ball opens and nothing else apart from fresh water coming in, then you hear the noise of the motor running that always runs after you flush and stops usually after 15 seconds and then you can flush the toilet again. whats happening now is the motor runs and does not stop, there is a pressure switch that works fine as i pushed it and the pump stops. I am using common sense and presume the motor extinguishes all the air and when all air gone the motor stops and then you should be able to flush the toilet, so if the motor is constantly running air is getting in the system. is there a quick fix or a seal kit and where should i be looking?

I have enclosed a picture of it.

any help would be good

Sounds like the seals have either perished or gone hard and Not making a seal under the flap in the bowl. Try some washing up liquid mixed in with the waste water.

I have vacuum loos, this happens if it cannot create the vacuum, so check for any obstruction on the seals first. Mine have in line "duck bills" inside the pipes leading to and away from the vac pump, these are hard to find, but need to seal to.
Hope this helps..

Don't know if will shed light, but the bowl was full of water as I kept trying to flush it and it did not form any suction, surely if the issues was the bowl seal it would suck the water out, or am I looking in wrong direction.

Sounds like you have a blockage leading into the vacuum tank. Locate the pipe that comes from the toilet to the tank and lift it carefully. You may also need to remove the vacuum switch to allow the blockage to be released into the tank. You will have to be patient, and have the pump running after you remove the vacuum switch to help pull the blockage through. Hope this helps.

If you get stuck, give me a call and we can come and sort for you.

Cheers Peter

like the hot water issue ive had a fixing day, and this was fixed as well.

It was a blockage and im not sure why, the boat has been out for the past 8 weeks and the toilet has not been used in this time, it went back in the water last Monday and one of the jobs i did was to pour the blue stuff in the bowl to keep it fresh and when i do this i fill the bowl up and put loads of the blue in and flush it a couple of times which i did and cleaned the whole bathroom at the same time.

I fixed this by sticking a hose in the bowl, not the pontoon one before anyone asks, i have an extension that i made up a while ago to fill the fresh water tank, i pushed it down and the water backed up, so i took the hose off at the back of the toilet and pushed the hose up there about 2ft and turned the hose on full, all sorts of things ran back mainly scale but it gurgled and went so i connected the hose back to the toilet and put the hose back in the bowl and all the water dispersed and the the toilet made the right noise then stopped as it should and all worked well. just to make sure i put the hose back down the toilet and filled the holding tank and emptied it a couple of times and it all worked fine.

Big clean up and threw the hose away.

Thanks for all the replies.

2 down one to go
