I have done Ijmuiden SH from Bradwell before & became really seasick. i fell asleep in the middle of the night & woke up to find lights all around me. I still find it hard to believe how I missed everything.

Why is it so hard from Den Helder to Ijsselmeer? I would have thought that an easy bit

Easy Roompot much less shipping & less tide time critical than the latter. Then the Canal bridges to deal with.

Certainly better than Stellendam, where the ch is narrow, with very shallow water either side & lots of turns .

Don't foget to check your air draft if you go through the Roompot as it's a fixed bridge.

The plan is Roompot, Ijmondhaven, Texel, Borkum, Helgoland, Kiel. We don't do whole night passages.

WE have 20m and went under when there was 22m. Must have been low water.
If you think going under the Orwell Bridge looks close......
The guy in the tower was great. He kept a lookout at the masthead as it approached in case my estimate was out...

Lots of buoys on the approach to Roompotsluis. If arriving after dark, radar is v. helpful, shows them up like lamposts down the road.

Colvin Watson, you need to measure your distances with that plan. Texel to Borkum and Borkum to Helgoland are pretty long for single day sails. I would suggest breaking them at Vlieland or Terschelling and Norderney, respectively.

Rather than locking-in at the Roompot & out again, Scheivenening might be a better bet

I make none of them longer than 60 miles??? Going in and out of the islands looks a real pain, makes a 40 mile journey a 50 mile one and it's complicated. rather set off at 6 and arrive at 6. Unless I'm well out on the distances - I'll check!
