Probably off to Ijmuiden again this summer.....

Well, I measured Texel to Borkum nearly 90 and the Borkum Helgoland bit over 70, using the navigable channels. You have a big (and pretty nasty) reef north of Borkum that you have to go round, and you also have to go west a bit to get around Texel. (Consider Den Helder instead of Oudeschilde) The German Bight is a pretty unpleasant bit of water. We have sailed along there 10 or 11 times and only once have not been delayed or forced into the Dutch canals by bad weather. On the other hand, the islands are delightful!

What kind of harbour has it got?

We stopped in there a few years ago with our previous boat.
As I recall, you come in between a couple of piers, through an outer harbour and, once into the inner, turn to stbd and there are yacht moorings - well actually 'raftings' as I recall you all raft against one another.
It was a decent town and there were stalls selling fish at the other end of the inner harbour. Beats locking in and out.
We may go via there if we head to the North part again this year.

Here's the basic passage plan, the routes do look like they go overland but it's a handy way of working out a basic day's sailing, I then do a detailed more to work out the tricky bits. Going in and out if the island harbours adds a heck of a lot.

Thank goodness we have a wheelhouse, I dread the thought of doing this at Easter in a cockpit :o

Yes yes yes but i like to feel the wind in me hair

If you stop at Terschelling take care for most recent chart information as the entrance changes a lot. Tidal streams run fairly swiftly round there as well. Mooring is (or at least was last time I went) rafting - rafts can get pretty big.

Did Delfzil to Cuxhaven on trip to Baltic. Went over the bar at the entrance to save an hour or so detour - was pretty shallow but made it over in calm weather. This was a while ago so the depths have probably changed. The tide is pretty helpful up that coast when with you, so working the tides will be important, and well worth factoring into your 'how many hours will it take me' calculations. You will probably have to leave or arrive in the middle of the night, since life is always like that.

Came back Helgoland to Borkum - if I come across the log will let you know how many hours it was, but don't remember is as too bad. Got in just after dark, but don't think we left very early. Take a good spotlamp for getting into Borkum!

Really, the decisions for next port always became obvious due to weather. We didn't have a fixed plan after leaving East Coast. Once at Delfzil we had calm weather for 48 hours, so just went as far as possible, else nip into somewhere else for a few days till it changed again.
