There are many others , just used SL88 to illustrate it does everything the x 80 does imho in a pretty hull to boot .
You'd rather hope that a near 90ft boat could do everything that an 80ft boat can do!

Tender storage !
Where is it on the hi lo ? Did I miss where it’s stored ?
No garage = another incremental move to fuglyness .
Guess it sits on the hi lo ?
Proper big boats keep it garaged and crew cantilever it out and away. No SY plonks the tender on a hi lo at the stern despite what Nick says in his vid . The tender thing is a let down serious let down . It’s got a giant FB esq feel not a mini SY feel .
Just boarding is easier with a clear neat stern .
I have just taken the full tour with Nick B and i have to say, yes the lack of a tender garage seems to be an obvious oversight
I have just taken the full tour with Nick B and i have to say, yes the lack of a tender garage seems to be an obvious oversight however, if you ignore the exterior styling then the space in this boat is absolutely amazing and the interior styling and finish, both artisanal and sublime. all this in an 80’ yacht is amazing and looking at the styling, i suspect the target market for these yachts is not us, or even the med, but probably the growing markets of the far east. of course at $8.5m you pay for every bit of the space you are getting although if volume and space is required but marina infrastructure for yachts beyond 80’ is not there then PYL have a win win On their hands. time will tell.
For me though, the stand out of this yacht is the interior which is exemplary.
I disagree entirely with that comment.A med boat is all about exterior space. The only time you'll be inside is when you're in bed.

I was seeing his Vlog and actually saw the space on the main deck as standard to the category. 24 meter motor yacht.
But videos can be misleading, so I cannot say beside what I saw on the small screen. I did not see the cabin part, and I am sure they are big.
Some comments where a bit over the top Complimentary....
A door by the galley? An old Canados 50 (50 as fifty footer) from the seventies had that.
Here’s a couple of rivals and imho better looking .
Pictures of boats with massive open spaces and tiny accommodation
Multi answer post .At the risk of being patronised by you again I really can't see what relevance these boats have to a Princess X80.
All the photos you posted are essential of one trick ponies, a massive open space taking up half the boat or more and tiny interior accommodation as a result. If I wanted a super yacht supply vessel to carry my toys round and house the crew they might do the job all be it at a price but when I want to stay air conditioned in the blazing sun, warm in the cold and avoid mosquitos and other nasty creatures of an evening big open decks aren't for me.
For you a floating patio works, for me it doesn't. As mentioned previously I'm also not chasing the best looking boat in my patch of ocean, for me it's about the functional accommodation. How great to be able to offer someone the X80's main deck forward cabin or the lower deck master and still have a master suite for myself. With this supposed second cabin your are spoiling me Mr President...... (A reference to the Ferrero Rocher chocolate TV adverts shown on our little Island).
Sx range of San Lorenzo are the IPS .They market them as “cross over “
I share your reluctance to IPS but I think with SX they tout longer range and then there’s the joystick for newbies with parking .Plus the bigger downstairs cabins with the smaller rear wards engine room .

They do a 76 as well this is ^^^ is 88 .
Note the rear massive beach club .Those rear flying buttresses are actual cranes they park there and form the style blend into the superstructure.
Anyhow it’s got the enc upper wheel house which have fully retracting glass for the wind in the hair experience. So in Thailand you could air con that fwd bit keeping the glass up fwiw .
Saloon glass trendy goes floor to ceiling with bulkwark cut outs for vis .
Having been on SL s inc SX and PY yachts at Genoa the SL is a few steps up quality wise imho .
The Vid I linked boat classic SL 88 has conventional shafts + big MANs .Just parrying your use of upstairs space .I may be wrong but you seemed a bit surprised as well as delighted with the drive - sit at table - sit on sofa + TV - sun lounging thing ? In the X80 .
They all ( typical large Italian FB ) do it .
There are many others , just used SL88 to illustrate it does everything the x 80 does imho in a pretty hull to boot .
Mike, I think you're in the minority though. Go to a typical med marina this time of year and there will be nobody on board any of the boats. Take Cala D'Or for example, it's like a ghost town out of season. I fully accept that San Carles has a bit of an expat community with a few liveaboards which makes is a little unusual for the Med.I disagree entirely with that comment.
It is not only wrong but totally misleading.
It is all about the type of boat and the way that you use it.
I have said many times that you camp on a sports boat and live on a flybridge boat.
That in itself contradicts your statement.
I have just spent the last 10 days (in January) on our boat in Spain.
Too cold to do out side stuff but still "wall to wall" sunshine - 17 degrees during the daytime and zero degrees at night.
But we have really enjoyed this holiday.
Heating on overnight but shirtsleeves during the day.
The exterior space on our boat wasn't used - but we had lots of people on board inside.
As I say, it just depends on the type of boat you have and what you do.
Just the same as in the UK, especially during this time of the year.
During the summer, the converse happens, it is sometimes nice to get away from the heat inside in the air conditioning.
I feel very strongly about your misleading statement.
It's "Macan" Porto.Multi answer post .
-Ari tender garage Q
- Your amazement at PY s use of space .
- confirmation of PYBs theme the Italians do it better and sooner
- level of fit out and further sophistication about …..Solar , side doors for a tender and with the SL SX 76 the beach club thingy with its various Besenzoni almost the full catalogue of gizmos .
- Think you find the A 80 XL s master cabin bigger than the X80s
- A 80 XL s closed space too enclosed bridge etc for your mozzi / AC point.
That was relevance .Sorry you missed it .
Let me try car sales .The Princess x80 to me is the Skoda Yeti to the Porsche Mecan .
If you have never seen / heard of the Mecan or the indeed the other 4x4 s in the same VAG then sure at first sight do rave about it .But ps don’t dismiss others who gently introduce a Mecan , Cayenne the Audi Q s , Bentayga and Uris .
There presence does not diminish the Yeti they compliment it .
Nice as it is the Yeti or x80 there’s a pecking order and plenty better .Sure they come at a price .
Theres nothing wrong per se with either at there price points .
It’s a bit different I know for the med boys we are looking through different eyes esp thoses based in Italy / SoF / Balearics.
But most x80s will not be for home consumption…..based in U.K. waters . So Petems “ open space - open air “ points stands .
A lot of owners are seasonal and have land base villas too .
The yacht isn’t a floating house esp in the off seasons .
Not saying a few on here can’t use them as winter Hol residences they do but are in a minority .
Here’s a couple of rivals and imho better looking .
Solar panels too built in .
First up the 80 a direct rival to the x80 ……note 1:25 Ari .
It’s about 3 mins
Then a even a 60 . To compliment a nice villa ashore …..the winter vacation place by the sea .Log fires n all that when it 0 * C .Hurricane.
Another 3 mins or so .
Ari ….go to 1:21 .
As PYB says the Italians have been doing this sq M outside space thing for a while .

Arcadia ^^ @ Genoa. My pic btw .
View attachment 129681
SL 76 ? Also @ Genoa the beach area is a bit more innovative than the PY offerings .
Folks need to get out more away from the little island and look around .![]()

depends what you're trading off, in order to get a tender garage like that - I presume the arcadia is not a tardis with infinite interior space , so the princess has some other use for that bit of space, might be a bigger guest cabin or something ( I have no idea), its all about trade offs though, what suits one person may not suit another. You'd obviously favour the tender garage, henry would rather have the space for a cabin (or somtehing)Odd what blokes covert isn’t it ?
Remember in the 90 s seeing theses on top of cars?
View attachment 129698
Picture the scene at traffic queues as you and the guy in the other lane lepfrogs you, and your car is without the then sat nav .
This
Sat in a marina on a x80 from PY with your tender sat presumably on the bathing platforms like a cooking 50 ftr .
While your neighbours boat ( identical like for like size ) has one of these .Arcadia 80 XL
Or every time @ a nice anchorage in a Sod’s law kinda way you end up facing a side door on another boat .

Any red blooded bloke on here tell me it would’t chew them up I do not believe you !
