Princess owners\' website?

Calling all Princess owners

After searching the net for some like-minded people who have Princess motor boats, I found that Fairline has an unofficial owners' club but not Princess. Being a Princess owner and website designer too, I was wondering if there would be enough interest to start a club with like minded owners showing off their hard work, upgrades, equipment etc. so we all can learn from each other and find new ideas on how to improve our boats. Whether or not a forum is started, I don't know as this ybw.com one is so good anyway, but maybe a small forum might be in order.

I need 4 like-minded people to help me setup this website. It is purely for the benefit of Princess owners and I would require some input from each person to begin adding content like a report on one of their upgrades showing photos etc. I could then start to classify each upgrade from navigation, electrical, furnishings, safety, engines, etc. Already, Stefan, another 55 owner has provided content and I am working on content too.

If there is a big response, seperate owners' club sections like Princess 38, 435, 55 etc. may be in order. A minimum of 4 people for each model would be required to provide content.

If you are interested, please reply to this message.

Good cruising

Re: Princess owners\' website?

Hi Mike
I have included a Princess Owners Group on my forum at www.boatsontheweb.com which is the same site as I run the boaters gallery and Profile pics areas.
Although there has not been a huge response so far, entering Princess owners group as a search in google uk does bring it up at No. 1 !
I personally have a Thames based P32.

Re: Princess owners\' website?

Yes, I was going to contact you regarding a link to your forum and chatroom if the Princess owners website takes off. What do you think? I'm all too aware of segregating owners websites when trying to integrate together is better for the end surfer and helps to keep useful information together. Does that make sense? I suppose what I'm trying to say is that having eg. 10 websites with forums all talking about the same thing is sheer hell wheras keeping the 10 websites but having a collective forum and chatroom is better. Let's see what the response is like and then we can work out the details.

Good cruising

Re: Princess owners\' website?

I'm up for it. I knocked up a website for my last boat (not updated since sold), but it does have some useful links (i think).

Let me know how I can help.

More importantly, which is correct.....

Princess Owners Club or
Princess Owner's Club or
Princess Owners' Club.

I was, up until now, too embarrassed (a word I can never spell) to ask. Hence the removel of the apostrophe from my website name. Also makes it easier for search engines to find the site.

I knew there was a good reason why I should have gone to school.

Re: Princess owners club

So far, the interest has been good, but we still need more interested people to provide some content. The Princess owners club webpage is at

Are there any suggestions as regards advertising, promotion etc.? Maybe a whip round the UK marinas is in order.

Re: Princess owners club

How about talking to Princess ?

Start with the dealers, Poole, Southampton, Plymouth etc

Talk to Robert Hawkins, North Haven Motor Cruising Limited who does the factory deliveries to the dealers, he has his own charter/training school etc.

PS. Anyone going to the Princess Summer Ball in Poole 20-21-22 June ?

Re: Princess owners club

I've e-mailed Princess and am awaiting a response.

Are there any wesites that list every yacht club in the UK? I could maybe either fax or e-mail them a flyer to post on their message board...

Re: Princess owners club

I found that the RYA website lists all the yacht clubs in the UK so it's just a matter of going round them all...

I'm trying to arrange a time when all the interested Princess owners can meet to discuss the future of the owners club.

Go to the site below and I should have the chatroom going...

Re: Princess owners\' website?

Very interested in your idea, would be pleased to help if I can, one drawback not very good on computers downloading etc etc but I am sure with your knowledge we could overcome same. Please advise.

Re: Princess owners\' website?

Well, if you can take photographs, do a small write up showing the upgrade to your boat then that would be all that is necessary. You could do the write up in "Notepad" on your computer and send it to me and post any photos you want with the write-up. I could do the rest.

I took a number of photos of our upgrades last night and I will be getting them on to the website shortly. But we really do need to arrange a time for everyone to meet in the chatroom and discuss some ideas. I'll be there today and possibly this evening if I'm not down at the boat :-)

You should have seen the waves last night. Ringhaddy Sound is the most sheltered place in Strangford Lough but a Southerly gale makes for some interesting RIB jumps getting out to the mooring.

Good Cruising

But I see that your in Strangford Lough. Is my mate Dermot still running the ferry. Or is he in jail yet. Tell him I've been asking about him.

Re: Princess owners\' website?

Are you still trying to set up a Princess Owners web site? I sent you a PM to confirm interest but did not receive a reply. Assume idea is dead. I am in contact with another princess owner who would be interested in contributing to a site. He has also tried to mail you but again no reply.

Re: Princess owners\' website?

I never got any private message...

We are definitely still interested in the owners club and I thankyou that you are spreading the word. Check out this for more...

If you are free to chat and want to discuss the setup or have any ideas for the layout etc, I can meet to chat in the yahoo chatroom (linked from website).

I know things are moving slowly but slow and steady is OK with me.
