Does anyone know the value to be set on the depth gauge for the sounding offset. Thanks
Ah I see. I would add 0.5 metres to clear the props and rudders. This was our P50 a few weeks ago.
In reality I set a mental limit of 1m depth (under the keel) as an absolute minimum. In practice I’ve seen 0.8m a few times particularly when coming into Newtown Creek but never over 25 knots.
?

I used to do that. Then in our early days on rivers etc shallow water is a big issue. So when encountering a shallow spot I would get spooked - did I add an offset? , If so what was it? Can't remember. How much water have I got? In the end I just set it to zeroNot offsetting seems a bit odd?
off set it by 2.0m…..then if it ever reads 0….you’ve got 1.0 margin minimum

Part of the hull. Accommodates the rudder stock. Not offsetting seems a bit odd?
