Is it Solo ? At Wolverstone

Sorry for the thread drift but I have a friend who is interested in a Princess 380 fitted with Mercruisers. I've done a bit of googling but can't seem to find any details. I think they might be V8 diesels. Are these a Cummins based engine?

Tell him not to go near it , that engine was a disaster

No it’s the one in Swansea called Newton’s drop.

Just looked at it online .
Looks a nice one but the maple woodwork makes them hard to shift on.
I’ve owned a 410 in the past which is also in Swansea .
They are one of the best built boats in there class , the only issue with this era of build is the stainless windows as they leak , they also form a white powder between the stainless outer frame and the aluminium inner one .
There a bit shy on power with the 63L at 318 hp but better than the kad 42 version .
Good luck with it as it’s sensible money .

Thanks for your input and yeah I agree the maple woodwork has to go I will probably get it wrapped if I decide to go ahead after viewing.

I was looking at this recently:https://www.theyachtmarket.com/boats_for_sale/1682337/
and wondered what it would cost to have the maple vinyl wrapped in something more modern
anyone done it?

Yup....

And a decent hairdryer. It is dead easy and of course...can be pulled off no problem.

It will flex round most corners once warmed up.

Takes a bit of practice. On sharp draw corners, I put a slit in it right on the corner, warm it up, pull one side round then the other side over. The vinyl is that thin, you won’t see it.

The main trick on edges/corners is to have way to much material, got it warm and pull it right round and stick it to the back. Get it really warm in that position then let it cool. It will go stiff again and “remember” the shape. Trim the back side so it’s tidy.

Hard to explain in writing!
