Princess 330

DAKA you cannot call 1.7 mpg uneconomical surely at around 22 knots cruise , the shaft angle is comparable to any other boat around that size, the tunnels in the 330 help but the 330 has a long fixed tab plate across the stern like sealine 360 to improve its planing length, the corniche does not need this to work well, the biggest mistake fairline made was to put the water tank where it is as this gives its bow up trim when half full, the twin cab had its tank under the large double island bed and improved things no end, the sterndrive corniches are the worst, from memory last time I looked at your old boat it was on legs not shafts.

1.7 average includes 7 knots harbour/river use and is a dangerous guideline as it uses up over 15% safety margin.

Shaft corniche will not manage 1.7 at constant 22 log

More like 1.4 .

Yes my last boat was on 200 duoprops, there is so much spare power the boat levelled off without the use of trim tabs or leg up/down.

I have cruised to the Farne Islands with 160 on shafts that did 1.4 @ 17knots.

P330 does have tunnels I think, is this them? -

Anyways, we viewed one a few months back and thought it was a great boat. Two decent sized cabins and good galley. The saloon felt very spacious for this size of boat and a good sized cockpit aswell. Flybridge is also a good size. Here's a pic of one out of the water - I think they look pretty nice.

Have looked at all of them over the years. All these boats are actually as long or longer than the proclaimed length, unlike modern stuff which always appear to count the 4ft of swim platform as genuine actual proper bit of boat.
Interior space you cannot beat the P35 and it has a nice double bed but prices are still fairly firm. The Corniche also has lots of interior space for its size provided you avoid the third bedroom version.Very few P330 around including one or two petrol examples which have been on the market unsold forever. If like most of us the price is fairly crucial, there are loads of Corniche around of all flavours and suspect this could result in some bargains if 40-50K is your limit. As with the other posts would say that legs are more economical on fuel but more expensive to maintain. If you go for outdrives get the latest versions ie avoid like the plague 270 or 280 under any circumstance.Later versions at least you can get bits for.
There is a P315 on shafts in Essex that has been up for sale for ever,so might be worth an offer.

Cheers just saved a PDF of my P33.always looking for unusual stuff about the boat.
Pictures are so spot on.Loads of impressive wash.......not much forward motion. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gifThat "spacious "dinette pix was def taken by a 2ft dwarf standing on the cupboard and they say the camera never lies......................Neat trick putting a miniature wine bottle on the table.

Still concerned about 1.7 mpg @22 knots.
