I've been offered the use of a high pressure washer which has a hot option; I'm not sure at this point how hot but I understand that it steams..... How hot could safely be used on gelcoat? Anyone got experience of this? Thanks for any advice.

Usually the heat is generated by diesel, and the unit is quite large to move about.
Are you thinking about the underwater sections of the boat, or the whole thing generally.
IMO the heat thing is over-rated, I have the option of both, but chose not to use the heated version, preferring the portability of the cold water option.

Keep away from teak (after some good forum advice), window seals, hatches, electronics etc..

They are great on non-slip (grp) surfaces and marine (poly) carpets.
