When oh when is this weather going to change. The boat has been stuck in Ramsgate waiting for these N/Easterlies to change so we can carry on to the Humber. This weekend ???

Why not tack north as far as Gt Yarmouth, where in a couple of days time the wind is forecast to be E? It then becomes a reach to the Humber.

Is upwind in a UFO31 in a F3 not a sensible option?

Well at a guess it is about 100 miles to Great Yarmouth and with a N/Ely would mean long tack short tack in the estuary channels with the wind at times blowing against a 2.5 kt ebb, not pleasant even in a 40footer and not my kind of sailing.

I didn't suggest do it all in one go. There are plenty of stop-offs in the muddy bit of the country.

Ok, each to their own. You must be more of a gentleman than me. I suppose if you don't want to sail upwind you have to be prepared for long waits.

Looks like a change on Friday, but then by Saturday it's forecast for WNW North of the Wash, so uphill again.
