Has any one used the range of Precision Antifoul, currently being distributed by Marethon Leisure to the trade

Wondering is it a useful low cost alternative

Tks

Lots of it going on in our boatyard, but the users are just depending on the retailer's (Crinan Boats) normally good reputation, no one is able to report on previous use so I suspect it is a new identity. Similar price to Flag which Gael Force rebadge to sell from their shops, but it is in different tins, while if you peel the sticky wrapper of the Gael Force tins it says Flag underneath. Has similar density and slightly roughish texture as Flag so will probably lose colour intensity in the same way. Precision tins seem heavy enough which suggests a reasonable proportion of copper. but perhaps using weight to select antifouling is not very scientific?

Just been told that Crinan came and took some tins of red back for exchange because of a recall, does not seem to affect every colour though.

An old thread but noticed that my local chandlery was promoting Precision antifouling. I could buy two 2.5 litre tins for the price of one 3 litre tin of International Uno which performed adequately last year for me.

One year on has anyone got good/bad feedback?

Regards
Donald

It seemed to work okay but the boats here come out after six months so any cheap eroding antifouling will probably be as good. I use Flag (sold as Gael Force) which erodes quite well but turns from navy blue to aquamarine in about 2 months. If you lift out every winter it should be fine, if you want two years between lift outs buy Shogun.
