I had a look done the list of forums, and seing as there sn't one called The Bedroom, i will have to post this here.
Anyway, I heard some quite obvious female ( I reckon) moans and gasps here in the marina at Porto calero, lanzarote, from another boat not too far away at about 11pm
Son#2 age 15 and I were having a chat in the cockpit of our boat and the noise rather interrupted my train of thought. I also didn't want him to think the noise arose from someone (say) having a row or crying, and feeling he ought to alert the marine staff or even the police.
So, I explained to him that the unavoidably quite audible noise was someone (probably one of two actually) having sex. He said he though it was a seagull? I told him, no definitely humans having sex, not seagulls. Right on cue a seagull cawed and he agreed it was quite different.
I shouted SHURRUP really loudly but I suppose they couldn't hear, or were busy, with the sex of course. However, the conversation was disrupted and I think son#1 went off for a snooze below.
Of course, no skin of my nose - I’ve had sex before (hence the two kids, see) and other times more recently as well.
Now, I read the YW advice regarding the transat stuff, and of course what with space in the article being limited Elaine won't have been able to cover things like this. Although it should have been covered at some point and it's not in any of the books or course or ANYWHERE which is rather remiss. Perhaps the RYA can help? Perhaps other IPC titles and/or others can advise if I should have done anything else?
It's not really a yottie/raggie issues, EVEN if it was a one or each having the sex, and no real colregs issues that I can think of (actually colregs doesn't mention crew or skipper giving way regarding sex, but anyway, this is in the marina so again, not an issue) .
Out of interest, are some marinas more prone to audible sex noises than others? I've only done one transat so others will know all this sort of thing much better.
BTW I was upwind of the boat in question, not sure which it was, possibly a catamaran behind us or perhaps may have been be capnsensible (or actually Mrs capnsensible obviously) poster hereabouts whose boat is nearby, ish. It doesn't make any difference to my question, even if it WAS his boat and not Mrs capnsensible, or not capnsensible together with mrs capnsensible, that's just a red herring. No, not either of them having sex with a herring either. Also, there were no actually words, spoken, so can't narrow it down either.
All advice gratefully received, ta. Try to keep it er clean, as I imagine that Elaine will print this in YW to get more advice from a wider audience.
Actually, i hope that there will be a less prudish approach to sex in Yotie mags (ie none allowed, ever), even tho lets face it, most blokes buy boats partly hoping that the sex thing will be all the more phwoar, or if they already have a boat they go somewhere south in the vague hope that swmbo might get their kit of a bt more frequently, which generally they do, as ilustrated by this post. Except for ChrisE who actualy took his boat miles north from UK so obviously he had the opposite problem, possibly.
