Hi All,

my son recently got a laptop which I'm hoping to "borrow" to use on board.

The laptop is powered from the mains 220 v by means of a
"model AA2285065 W -AC/DC ADAPTOR".

There is also all sorts of other info on the back of this adaptor including :

EMERSON JAPAN LTD : INPUT AC 100 - 240v 15a 50/60hz
OUTPUT 19.5V ---- ___ 3.34A

I have 24 volt available on the boat.
Can anyone advise me what I have to do to power the laptop from my onboard 24v supply?

Regards,

Duke.

Your Maplin adapter is described as a car adapter. All cars I know are 12v thus this adapter is unlikely to be suitable for a 24v boat system. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Most 24V systems are based on 12V x 2 .......... so tapping off 12V should not be difficult .............
