Can anyone possibly know where to find which boats were awarded PotY in the last dozen of years?
I tried to google around, but no joy.
Thanks in advance!

Isn't that something that various countries/publications would have their own take/awards on? Is there a global award?

There's quite a bit of race stuff over on powerboatarchive2.co.uk - mostly scanned documents etc and building up all the time I think? I don't recall seeing any annual awards, but the original site certainly had a lot of race results, video and scanned press clippings so perhaps an email to Graham Stevens?

Also burgundyben of this parish has some involvement in the racing aspects of Cowes Classic etc I believe, so might have some pointers for you?

Edit: www.boat-duesseldorf.com run a European Powerboat of the Year award - is that what you were looking for? Type the following into Google search: "powerboat awards site:http://www.boat-duesseldorf.com" I can see some of the last few years, but what is found will depend on what pages they've left live and which have been deleted.

Yes and no, because what I had in mind was a "PotY" award (not specified as "European"), handled by Powerboat Magazine and started well before 2005.
In fact, I half remember to have read something about it on the actual paper magazine.
But as I recall, the magazine went out of business already several years ago...
...and I'm not sure if the one you linked was established as a sort of continuation of what Powerboat Magazine did.
Thanks for the hint anyway, if nothing else it gives me some inspirations for other searches! :encouragement:

MBY and MBM magazines used to run (maybe still do) motorboat awards but they were limited only to those boats they had tested during the calendar year so were useless in terms of identifying the best boat in each category

Yep, actually even with more "general" awards, I don't think I would have trusted them a lot, in a potential boat search.
In fact, also my OP had nothing to see with that - more an historical curiosity, sort of... :)
