Do the Helmsman course so you can apply ICC 10+ details on the RYA website free to members and valid for 5 years
Couple of schools near you who can do or do the Dayskipper Practical after you have done the theory course still got that offer of buy one get second half price

Because you have your boat in Alicante, I would recommend that you do your ICC course as that is the certificate that the Guardia Civil will want to see if they stop you.
I have found in the past when teaching couples that you will end up bouncing ideas from one to another when doing your manoeuvres. And just think what if? What if something happens to one of you when out cruising.
