Cheers Tim, just need to see how much I am going to get striped for my first service, and then Tom and I will be in touch. He did say he may treat Dad for his Christmas present though...

Because you have your boat in Alicante, I would recommend that you do your ICC course as that is the certificate that the Guardia Civil will want to see if they stop you.

I have found in the past when teaching couples that you will end up bouncing ideas from one to another when doing your manoeuvres. And just think what if? What if something happens to one of you when out cruising.

Whatever your decisions ENJOY!

I do enjoy my boating, the PB2 and ICC would be for my 2 kids ( they are over 21 "now feeling old") I agree that it would be better on a boat near the same as my S28. The plan was that they could use my boat when they go to Alicante without us. But I will not let them use it until I know they have had some training and the ICC of course. The funny thing is when I had the boat for the 2 day handover, we spent a while morning doing MOB using different methods depending on sea state. On the second day spent the afternoon towing a boat back that was in trouble, so had been shown the best towing options as well. I do not hold the PB2 or ICC (but the wife does);) I don't think I would gain a great deal from the PB2 as I have had boats both pleasure and fishing for the last 30 years. So not sure what to do.
