Power steering

I have twin engines, Mercruiser 180 diesels, conected to Bravo two legs, they each have a steering pump only one pump is conected to the power steering ram, is it possible to conect both or will they fight or feed each other?

I have two D-Tronics and have just removed the redundant pump from the Port engine

I don't think it would be sensible to connect both and why would you want to at any rate, do you have a steering problem at the moment ?

I took mine off because I felt it was in the way and by the time I needed it as a spare it would be knackered through lack of use. When I get round to it I will oil it and pack it away in the garage for the unlikely day the starboard one gives up
