After returning from my Channel Islands and France trip,it now turns out that the hole in the power steering cooler on the oil side is only a pinprick:size. As I blow in the seawater end with my hand over the other end I can only just here the smallest amount of air getting by. A new one from yanmar is nearly 500 and a copy from mr cool USA is about 300 with p&p.
I see my options as,possibly some kind of radweld fluid for power steering,or have a radiator repair shop have a look.

The only radiator repair place I new of in Southampton was just up the road from swanick marina, but its gone!

The coolers about a foot long,40mm sea water in/out,and 10mm oil in/out. Yanmar 315 6lpa-stzp
Any ideas

Would also like to thank Ian,

Rob

Rob, can you email any details with dimensions and pictures over to me? I work for a cooler manufacturer (UK based of course) so I can have a look and see if we have anything in our range which might be suitable if that will help?

richardo@thermex.co.uk

If we can't offer anything suitable then I'll try and point you in the direction of someone who might.

The 6lp fuel cooler is nothing fancy just two tubes together welded at the ends its not a tube stack affair so should be a simple fix, looks similar to volvos earlier sterndrive power steering cooler.

Thanks for comment, been given, well £50,for an unused bowman cooler,it's perfect, just a little long, and the fittings are not the same, but a trip to hyerhose in Southampton and I got a couple of blue silicone reducers for£12each couple of hose connectors and next weekend I just need to cut back my hoses a little and it should all fit a treat.might even re spray bowman blue away with yanmar grey so all looks good.

My concern is getting the emulsified oil out of the system, and has it done any damage?
My idea is to fix the leek, then keep flushing steering fluid threw the system until pure red oil appears again!
