Power Kite

Should improve the range of the vhf as well;

'Plymouth Coastguard this is dinghy Shoughrosa over'

'Dinghy Shoughrosa this is Plymouth Coastguard. Could you confirm your position over.'

'Plymouth Coastguard this is dinghy Shoughrosa. Our position is 7 miles southwest of the Lizard, 32 knots on a northeasterly course, altitude 300 feet. Requesting permission to land at Exeter Airport..

Acshully in all seriousness a mate keeps a small kite in his grab bag so if the worst happens he can draw attention to himself in his liferaft.

Merry Christmas one and all.

I reckon you could have sold those to some of those poor delayed passengers forced to shack up for the night at Heathrow......

Seriously Jimi, what do you plan to do with it ? Is it just like a big kite and you keep your feet on the ground - all being well? !

Was at Barton on Sea walking the dogs around midday today, and there was 2 or 3 guys in those kites which lift you off hte ground and you have like a boson's chair underneath - I thought they were called paragliders

It was only light airs so they were literally jumping off the cliff then just hanging around a few metres off the ground - when they 'sailed' parallel with the cliff top, it would have been possible to walk along having a chat with them !! On a different day, I would think they are pretty hairy! Not for lightweights or the faint hearted !!
