I think someone asked this before but can't find the post. I have a stereo in my boat and it keeps cutting out and coming back, I can find no problem with the power connection and it cuts out less on battery postion 1 than 2. Could someone advise why this happens please.

Not sure. These things are difficult to diagnose without seeing. However if it is less in one battery position it could be worth checking the connections all the way back. You could be getting a volt drop across a dodgy connection which could be worse with a slightly lower voltage in one battery. There could be a dry joint in the stereo itself which is effected more in one battery position. It could also be overvoltage, worth checking what the voltage is at the stereo on each battery. You don't say where the stereo is sited, could be it is overheatingd due to lack of airflow. Does it work if you run it from a different source ie in the house or car? Does it work if you have it in a different position in the boat?
I suggest you look for something simple and try to eliminate one thing at a time. Good Luck.

Its a car stereo in the main cabin and is situated in the main switch panel could be getting hot. Thought about taking a power feed off of another source,

If it's intermittent & hard to trace....wire a bulb temprarily between the stereo supply(as close to the unit as poss.) & earth so's you can see it easily, then if the stereo cuts out & the bulb stays on, it isn't the power supply at fault..

But do also check for overcharging using a digital multimeter.
