For anyone who is interested, we have taken it upon ourselves to visit one marina a day in various coastal towns around the coast in the Algarve.
So far we have Villamoura, a georgous marina a little like Ocean Village with very nice bars around the edge. Possibly its downfall is the architechture around it, but a good selection of Princess's counteracts the bad bits.
Secondly there is Porto Mao, currently still being developed it looks to be very promising, reminds me slightly of Brighton with flats being built around the edge. Again a good selection of boats and nice long fingers on the pontoons.
Next visit is Lagos another newly built marina, we'll have to see! Prices are so much cheaper than England but you have disadvantagers of limited weekend cruising destinations the unpredictable Atlantic.
