Portsmouth Harbour / Solent

Hopefully weather will keep on improving and we get a better summer than 2019. I’m going out tomorrow just over to Osborne bay for lunch, I have not left the pontoon for 12 weeks so can’t wait! Visited the marina Wednesday and was amazed my boat looked in better shape than expected after lockdown. Cleaned the decks and fired up the engine all good to go. A good run needed to get the hull slim off.

I went from hardway to cowes and back today. It was to pick up an eBay purchase.
30 mins to get there! Solent was flat calm, no motor boats either , maybe that is why it was so flat?. Very few boats out.
Tomorrow I will do it again but by sailing boat .
Nice weather, calm seas and a nearly empty solent , has to be done.

Sounds good! Little wind tomorrow though. Primary reason for my original post was wondering if the harbour patrols were out policing pleasure craft, not fussed if they are now as we have the all clear to go. Enjoy

Not often one can go flat out in a small boat in the solent if you value your spine.. Tomorrow will be one of those days that you can.
Do you mean the volunteer patrol ? I think they only come out at weekends ?

No not the weekend volunteers, I heard that pleasure boats sneaking out during the lockdown were being stopped by ministry of defence boats! Yes weather tomorrow set great for getting on the plane.

I heard of two instances of boats being fined for going out before lest Wednesday.
Today I glided past moving warships, tugs, container ships and mod police who gave a friendly nod.

There was no wind until mid afternoon. I decided to fit my ebay purchase rather than go out. Next week looks to be really good, and forecourt diesel at asda this evening was £1.04.7 and Petrol @ £99.7
I wonder how much premier are charging ?

Not sure on current premier fuel costs, fillled up before lockdown so I’m good for a while. Would post some pictures from today but file sizes to large. Quite a few sail and power boats out today.
