Good Afternoon All

Does anyone have any experiance and can recoment any of the portable generators such as the Honda EU10i or the Yamaha EF1000is.

It will basically only be used for when out and about for battery charging and TV etc

many Thanks

Ian

Can't comment on the EU10i but i saw one running on the moorings last year and it was very quiet. I have however has a Honda EX650 for about 15 yrs and all i've done is oil changes and put petrol in, starts first pul without fail and although 650 output it runs my 1kw immersion heater without problem. Would buy Honda with confidence.

also had a honda gen for about 15 years, never been a problem, they have a very good reputation. Can't tell you which one cos its on the boat 300 miles away...

I have exactly this unit and it's brillant!

Very quiet; in fact last summer at anchor you could not hear it when more than a couple of dinghy lengths off the boat.

Mobo's with their diesel genny's on, you can hear the exhaust water puffing away more readily than my Honda

Re: Where are you buying from?

Hi Jerry

Went to Brownpower at £589, must be a promo on ,
In stock and will hopefully have one tomorrow

oh and if you ever get a power cut at home on xmas day at 11am that goes on for 4 days, your generator makes a great TV back up, together with the gas BBQ to cook and boil water on. & yes this actually happened...

Hi Ian,
I have one of those Hond's and did a lot of research on VFM and noise out put. The Honda is the quietist by far at 54 decibels and so compact. They also fire up so easily.I paid £385 delivered to the door. Have a scan on the 'net and find 3 or 4 of lowest prices available from suppliers and play one of against tuther. They are about £700 retail but if you get trade suppliers quotes you can beat them down.
