£250.00/metre........

I pay £259/metre with showers, restaurant, bar, electricity, all states of tide access, staff that check the boats twice a day, great pontoons, shop etc etc.

PD has a long way to go for £9/metre..... That said I do hope the new owner is successful with this venture, we had some great times at PD until it went down hill. It's a great place with lots of potential, time will tell.

Personally I'm not bothered about the showers, we use the boat, restaurant? We have a good pub. Electricity is £60 per quarter at the moment although we are supposed to be going on meters so might be even cheaper. Access all states of tides, fair enough, you can't change the geographical location. Staff check our boats, maybe not twice a day. We don't have pontoons up the dock, we're on the wall. Shop!! Hell no thanks..............

As you know, the main thing about PD is it's location enabling boating in pretty much all weathers, always somewhere to go. Time will tell if the new regime will change things for the better or worse, up to yet it has all been for the better, if it turns for the worse I foresee many PD berth holders looking for pastures new, us included.

Give the guy time fellas he's only owned it 5 minutes.

I really hope he turns it around, as I said before we had some great times there but, it can't compare in anyway to where we are now. The cruising up in the Clyde is far better..... Oh forgot I shouldn't say that?..

It's factored into my annual costs, if my boat was at PV we wouldn't be able to go as often so location is key for us. PD is reasonable compared to other marinas in the area

At the end of the day it's just somewhere to park your boat, PD does it for us, but we're all different!

Most of us are sporting chinos and blazers nowadays, although some of us are still going for the sweatshirt and jeans look, set of with a dab of anti-foul here and there

Price per metre £250 x 11.5 = 2875
Con Harbour Trust £17.22+vat/mtr = 235.60
Electricity £60/quarter = 240

Total cost =3350.60 divided by length of boat 11.5

Real cost of mooring = £291.35 per mtr.

Oh that looks much better now.......

Howd on a minute, I accept that I am a scruffy git on the boat (can't afford to ruin good clothes) but HANGING seems a bit OTT, and anyway it should be from the yard arm NOT in a locker!

The dock will be manned between approximately 6am and 10 pm during the week, and between 8 am and 4pm weekends. Outside of these times, the dock gates will be covered for TWO hours either side of high tide"

So no real change there then.

Thats all there is in the letter Roy...

I personally have no problem as I cant remember pushing in or out many times beyond those hours. I think the only time I pushed out much earlier we ended up having to draw only half a metre to get over the mud.

I can live with it and if one of our possible upgrades happens we will have to take care with a fixed draft of 7 foot!

2 hours before is fine for most turns right might be nicer to leave a little earlier than this if you want to get to Conway before the tide turns against you.

2 hours after is fine for most turns left. (depends if you want a bit of rough over the bar in southerly wind)

Returning any earlier use outer dock? or waiting pontoons would be nice

But all my passage planning is at 5.5 knots!
