PORT DINORWIC- Half amillion investement

My only concerns are access, berthing fees and security, cutting back trees and tidying up (which has already started on a grand scale) would be nice, but other than that I'm not fussed really.

Parking......... Ehm ?

Will be even more of a squeeze to get an extra 30 to 40 cars dockside to cater for the staff and customers of a planned busy restaurant and other thriving onsite business activities.

Plus the oracle (philz) got his car pranged by a visitor which was not picked up on CCTV. I agree not enough parking, the focus of attention is not marina - boating it will be marina - overall gross income. As per earlier post no mention of repairs and maintenance for general running. Expecting damage to my boat following 5.00am altercation with the very nice lady and gentleman at the end of the dock.

watch this space!

AThat's a strange picture, what's that all about then?

Saturday early morning the dock was covered with floaters. Looks like nitrate run off causing foam pollution brought on by the rain in the night.

alternatively was Roy's macerator working last weekend?:)

Nah........boat owners will be asked to park in the halfway house Pub car park to make way for the peeps who are actually going to spend money in the marina having their nails/feet/hair done while they fill their faces with overpriced eggs benedict!

He may even realise that the cheapest option is, rather than shore up walls, replace pontoons etc, he will just fill in the outer dock with concrete and make another car park, and make all the boaty guys park there!

This will ensure that Philiz and everyone will not get their cars bumped!

Result!

If anybody spots a white car with N/S damage, point me at it. I'd like to shake the driver firmly by the throat

Kwakers doing amphibious trips I thought he was already into that as he has hit almost all of the stickie up bits in the waters around Angessea there is but there has to be some he has hit that I have missed.
Bet i have hit some he hasn't the rock in the middle of the Skerries for one. :D

ha ha, I hit that one too. Son was steering & I was bow lookout. I was distracted by a seal & pointing it out to him when we hit it. Fortunately, I was holding the forestay or I might have joined the seal in the oggin.

Rumour has it he's doing away with the grassed area and trees and extending the car park. He's also getting rid of the old boats and shifting the trailers.

Rumour also has it that the skipper of Little Ship may be around North Wales next weekend.:p

Tom.

PS. Without his fun box ???

Kwaka's boats are not actually in the harbour. The others are all rich beyond the dreams of Croesus - well, got a few more squid than this old pensioner. It's a very sheltered spot, convenient to board due to the lock, so prices are roughly the same as in any other marina location. which I why I am in the river in Caernarfon at a fraction of the cost.

Is that in the outer or past the gates ,it is a good price though ,thats a bloody good pub through that house estate and great view

£250.00/metre........

I pay £259/metre with showers, restaurant, bar, electricity, all states of tide access, staff that check the boats twice a day, great pontoons, shop etc etc.

PD has a long way to go for £9/metre..... That said I do hope the new owner is successful with this venture, we had some great times at PD until it went down hill. It's a great place with lots of potential, time will tell.

Past the gates and the Bridge in Philz's case

I was pleased to see the initial transformation that has taken place. Getting rid of all the rubbish and scrap iron, moving abandoned boats to a less visible spot and tidying the scrap up on view has started to make the place look more cared for.

I am hoping to be a user of the new fenced off storage area. I might even be persuaded to leave the wheels on the trailer!

I could be persuaded to return next year with a larger boat:) and a discount for an annual deal.

It is high time the new management informed customers of his intentions by e mail and/or a new website.
It would be proper to be consulted to see how his priorities match ours.

The main concern remains any change to dock operation hours and automation? I think this may be more of an issue for the training boats than ourselves.
