Porpoise in the Stour

Saw a porpoise swimming about 50m off the beach along the west side of Bathside Bay on Wednesday. Quite tricky to photograph but you can just make it out in the centre of the photo. I work in the Port so am able to access the area. The only other porpoises I've seen were a few miles out, so was surprised to see one so close in.

That dorsal fin is unmistakeable harbour porpoise

I thought I saw a porpoise briefly, yesterday around 1:00pm, off the container ships in Felixstowe Docks. Wasn't sure but I think you have confirmed.
First sail of the year and what a splendid shake down it was, warm and sunny, although with very light winds.

Also saw one in Orwell last week. Third time I’ve spotted one in the Orwell.

I saw one last October above Slaughden, puffing his way upstream. First time I've seen one on the Alde.
