Porcelain sinks

I am hoping to fit a mixer tap and shower unit, but the hole for the tap is too small. Is there a way to enlarge it without the sink chipping and self destructing ?

You can get diamond cutting wires for hacksaws. Maybe even diamond dust half-round files. Hard work though.

Depends really on the existing hole size. You can get a very small flap wheel for the drill from B&Q and this is the easiest way. alternatively a small grinding wheel in a dremel would be good. half round or round file is not a great solution as the filing movement is up and down, thus maximising the chance of a chip.

It's only up and down if you make it so. More accurate if you file away from you and lift it coming back.

well I will give it a go tomorrow. I have a Dremel with the rights bits. If I break the sink then I've got a second hand one just in case.
