Popped into the Southampton boat show yesterday.....

Hi Paul, must have missed you!
We we were shown around the Y85(?) but despite Princess' generous hospitality in their suite, my fave boat of the show was the Cranchi T34 (only £800k so a bargain by comparison) it was interesting though to compare the quality and feel of them both.
Yes, dreaming but I believe brand loyality is nutured and cultured, we are big fans of Princess, because of the way we have allways been treated.
One of their guys even helped Father in Law (c/w walking sticks) up onto the flybridge so top marks there.
I have never had to pay for a ticket to the show as our local broker or marina usually has a few to give away

ps still miss the London show
Shame we missed you Iain. New boat prices are eye watering. Not sure how anyone can justify £800k for a 34. Yep London is missed, but have you been to Düsseldorf in January. I went this year. Day trip from LHR, and a great show.

£800k for a T34. Is that right? Youre kidding, I must be losing touch. Is that the deluxe version made out of 100% carbon fibre with solid gold handrails, diamond studded bathroom fittings and soft furnishings in African elephant foreskin leather?

It did have a suede effect wallpaper! What was interesting was the comparison with the £4m+ princess in term of finish and "feel" etc

Praps it was £500k, have to check but my point was the difference in cost and how very different they felt

Still liked the Cranchi though

Must be the elephant foreskin wallpaper ;-)

Not thinking of going over to the dark side? Have a cold shower and a lie down;)

Heh, I think a cat is a great way to see the world (5.5 years and still going) :)

(Anyone get the lighthouse or its location?)

Well, a mobo ain't too bad either (20+ years and still going)

Sorry, no idea about the lighthouse, but the pics are indeed nice. :encouragement:

Otoh, I hope you don't mind if I try to show below that there are decent spots also in "Lake Med".
Not to mention what you can find along its coasts: the list of stunning places along the Med coasts is truly endless, and impossible to beat no matter how nice and/or larger your preferred "lake" is, anywhere else on this planet. :)

Yup, all very lovely I'm sure, but we prefer the places that see very few boats a year. Its quite a thing when you jump in the dinghy and the village turns out and sings you ashore. We're a bit more than halfway around but its so lovely here, we're a bit stuck. For now anyway :) Time is how long we've been sailing on this trip.

Amazing that in just that time, cats have seemingly won. 75% multi-hulls in the anchorage here last night (12 boats, shockingly busy but we're just down here for crew changes and back to the remote islands next week).
