Has anybody noticed that the "decorative" roundabout on Holes Bay Road in Poole has Port and Starboard channel markers flanking a large anchor. Nice touch considering the importance of Poole as a major yachting center. Shame that they put them the wrong side of the roundabout - port marker on the starboard side and visa-vera.

The guy who checked them was driving away at the time and looked through his rear view mirror.

Mind you if this was the only thing Poole Council got wrong it would be wonderfull.

I suppose it makes perfect sense to you if you are towing a PWC!.

As I see it t'wd be difficult to mark a roundabout with port and starboard hand marks. From one direction you would be directed over the middle of the roundabout, from the other it would not be possible to comply.

Maybe U sd offer some black and yellow paint to turn them in to Cardinal marks.

No, just paint them with red and black horizontal stripes and put two black balls over the top.
