This afternoon,my chum who now has his shiney new boat located in Bray marina, took us up river to show off his newly aquired skills in boat handling and lock entering.
Very warm day and virtually no one else on the river.
The last time I was up this way you had to use the windy handle thing to do the locks,so much better now with the new system.Stopped just below that big posh NT property on the hill for lunch and a pleasant late evening cruise back noting a little plaque on the river bank denoting that Richard Dimbleby had a house on the island just above Maidenhead Lock.
Ps Being V.nosy Has Rolf Harris moved his statue or am I in the wrong area and who has bought that big posh house which is undergoing a big time internal refit.
The score so far on the plus side since moving to the Thames is one holding tank and electic bog fitted and the minus side one engine overheat and the removal of the mooring light with the help of Windsor Bridge .
