Plastimo offshore 105 compass light replacement

I'm assuming it's in the hood raised portion in the centre. If so you can remove the hood by the central screw each side, the bulb is in the central raised bit in a holder. Just replace the bulb, but I found mine was too bright so fitted a 24v which is perfect. Or perhaps the bulb may be soldered in position.

Mine are from 2013 and have led bulbs. Both failed within the first year. It’s an easy change as described above but does require soldering the joints. I first used white but these were too bright for night passages so I changed them to red, big improvement. Bought replacements from eBay.

That’s interesting I didn’t find a need to solder anything. Bulb was just a pea bulb from eBay for I think 57p including postage.

Also interesting that although Plastimo sell a red bulb diffuser, it's not suitable for red card compasses.

So from their recommendation, it's got to be a white bulb for a red card compass and a red bulb for the black card compasses.
