I think you can rule out Hypalon at the less expensive end of the market, they are pricey and the first to be nicked. Unless you did decide to go for an old Avon, that is, which are indestructable and the last to be nicked. Did you know that after a nuclear war only cockroaches and Avon inflatables would be left?
Inflatable floors are great but add a bit of bulk when deflated and take up payload space. I would go for one though.

am I right in thinking that the material (Hypalon vs PVC) is not a major consideration

In purely practical terms, my experience is that the Hypalon ones are much more supple when deflated and fold up easier, especially in cold weather, than the now ubiquitous PVC. A consideration certainly, but not a deciding factor for me.

If you do go for the compactness of an inflatable floor be aware that they need to be inflated to a much higher pressure than the tubes and you need an appropriate pump.
