For years I have always kept a tube of this stuff on-board, in the tube, unlike filler in a tin it keeps for ever, is easily measured out and mixed, it is exothermic so can be used at much lower temperatures than epoxy. The tube I have just finished was purchased in 2013 in the Fishermens Chandlers in Stornaway.
My faith in it goes back to a race in the early nineties, we had started from Bangor (NI) on a windless Friday night, it was pitch dark and we were stiil in the Copeland Sound, at last making good speed lee bowing the tide, we misjudged our speed and direction and manage to collide with one of the channel buoys, the lifting lug on the side of the buoy punched a cricket ball sized hole just below the boot top, by tacking and keeping all the crew to lee we were able to keep the water out. A tube of said filler was mixed, a rope round my ankles and I was able to shovel it in the hole and smooth off, it went off in less than 20 mins and we were able to keep going without loss of time. Despite doing it inverted the finish was good enough to alow us a victory, in fact it was a couple of weeks before we were able to haul the boat over and tidy up the repair. So I always carry a big tube hoping never to use it , but eventually it gets used up on minor repairs demanding good adhesion and strength.
But it has disappeared, Henkel are now selling something with a different name, in tins rather than the long lasting tube. Anyone know of a replacement or substitute?

Thanks LoneHort, so it is gone for good then, for marine applications putting it in tubes made it so much handier, same applied to the marine filler and the gelcoat. I suppose by putting it in a tin exposed to air they will sell more as the shelf life will be more than halved. They have the cheek to pretend it is the same stuff.
Somewhere in the world someone must surely have the wit to market glass fibre filler and gelcoat filler in tubes.

You need the Teroson UP 620, which is the new name for Plastic Padding Gel Coat Filler.

No I don't, thanks, I still have a tube of that, the tube I am hoping to replace is fibreglass filler, (as thread title), you know the green stuff with fibres in it, gelcoat filler is not structural, and I want it in a tube so I can use it a bit at a time when I need to. I have used Plastic Padding fibreglass filler loads of times, this week it was to fill a hole in an external window frame, it was a versatile product but once you open a tin its life is seriously shortened, in a tube it will keep for ten years.

Looks as if I am going to have to give in and buy a tin of fibreglass filler fom Henkel (Teroson) as listed in Lonehorts attachment, I hate it when firms take successful products off the market and was hoping I could retaliate by buying from someone else.

Upol Fibral is in a GRP filler in tube. Just as good as the PP equivslent. I bought my emergency filler tube five or six years ago from Halfords and, like you, have used it up on small reinforcement jobs. Available from Amazon

Exactly what I was trying to find, thanks. I will look on Amazon.
The usual irritation of course when I find that listed sellers wont post it to any part of Scotland north of the Central Belt, Why???? it costs the same.

Isopon P60

If you want something like Sikaflex, then CT1 can be applied to wet surfaces and sets underwater.
