I'm aware of two Rivals with black 'plastic handrail' mouldings fitted as capping over their teak toerails. The results seem smart, robust and maintenance-free.

Any experience to offer?

Most Twisters have 'Marley' plastic handrail capping as a toerail. The hull/deck joint is formed to make a T-section and the capping clips over it.

It needs no maintenance. Mine is 45 years old.

Completely successful, I'd say.
