Plans for 2016 boating?

Same as last year, come down to south coast. 2015 scuppered by Gizmo our very much loved King Charles Spaniel. He had a ruptured eye so couldn't bounce around the boat. Got that sorted & kept his sight, only to get cancer on his spine, treated that with Radio which he tolerated well but had to use a wheel chair until the tumour shrank, only to go down with the dreaded Cavalier heart failure which took him a couple of weeks before xmas. What a year the poor little sod had. Not much fun for us either but we now have Cavapoo's Fidget & Fudge, Gizmo loved Fudge as he was the runt & Gizmo could look after him, but guess what, he gets travel sick so the boat should be fun.

Looking forward to a whole new experience boating from Cala d'Or from March this year... lots to learn about the new cruising ground, but very excited indeed. Already picked up some suggestions from the med cruisers. Expect a thread asking for more advice soon!

Having upsized from Maxum 2700SCR to T37 a couple of months ago excited for the new season, been in Loch Lomond for 6 seasons but ready to come out onto the West Coast, albeit only going to take her out for 4-6 weeks to WC to get a little experience.

Still got loads to learn about the boat before then and some courses to do, sailed a fair bit with my mate around the Kyles of Bute, Rothesay, Portavadie etc. also down to the IOM for the TT with a wee stop of at Portpatrick so feel about ready to head for the sea in my own boat, might make the Crinan canal to get out to Jura and the likes.

The good news is the wife and kids are really up for it once I've proved I can go out and come back incident free lol

Nothing quite as adventurous as some of you gents, but we are planning a trip down the coast from Torquay to Falmouth. Looking to stop over night at Dartmouth, Plymouth, Fowey and then Falmouth. We will allow a couple of weeks to do the trip, so hopefully will be OK for weather. Quite adventurous for us in a MF645?

We would like to pop across to the Scillies at some point, but that will have to wait a couple of years until our next upgrade.

2015 wa a good year with East Coast and Holland cruises as well as the usual weekend ditch crawling. This year we have other things going on so no fixed plans but I do fancy a repeat of our 2012 East Coast and non-tidal Thames cruise.... :)

2015 - explore south coast of Ireland - May

Aug- Cardiff to Port la Foret via Isle de Glenan and back short stop overs in few great places.

2016 - explore West coast Ireland = May

July / Aug = Hoping to get down to Northern Spain may be Portugal!

Weather dependant as always!!

Getting married in Torquay mid July, boat will be used for transport to/from, just praying that we don't get the usual Torbay rain on the day, was last there early December and despite the strong winds it was better weather than I've had some summers there. Then boat will be going somewhere on Hamble for August, after that depends on weather.

Let me know when you are down - if I can get out that weekend, I'll try and get some pictures on the water for your album!

After 7 years in Portishead, we are moving our boat to Torquay.

Been down to Torquay today to look at which berth. (c40) travelling from Bristol in the car it's only a 1.5 hour trip. However I will miss popping down to the boat when I feel like it.

Really looking forward to the trip in late March or April. I.e. Wait for a decent weather window. Refuel
Padstow and again in Falmouth just to be safe. 2 or 3 days, depending on tides and weather etc.

That sounds a great trip and I think I'd stretch out as long as I could! Would love to see a write up and pics when you've done if you can? :encouragement: Will keep an eye out for you in and around the Bay - there's great cruising grounds around here so I'm sure you won't be disappointed with the move.

Congratulations! We're getting married early September and the honeymoon will be on the boat (at least that's what I've been told we're doing :)) No firm plans yet as to where we're likely to be heading then, or at any other time of the season. To be honest I'll be more than happy if we're able to use the boat as much as we did in 2014. 2015 was such a disappointment weather-wise.
