I was in HK 1999-2000 and experienced a few typhoons, saw the typhoon shelters fill up with boats on drive home from Chai Wan to Mid Levels, then it buy a few 6 packs and battern the hatchs. A group of us would hire a junk out of Aberdeen harbour for a Sunday cruise and fish lunch on one of the islands. I enjoyed the 20 months there but was ready to transfer to Taiwan where the pace was a bit slower.
Now I just get rafted up in Holland and meet lots of interesting people that way.
