I have been using Imgur as a photo web hosting thing to put picture etc into posts on here.
Unfortunately and I do not know why, Imgur is now not available in the UK so all my pics on here have effectively disappeared.
Can anyone recommend another??
Cheers.

Yeah noticed that when I was back in Scotland, no access to Imgur from the UK from the start of October, still got full access to it in Belgium.
They did point out you can email the admins to have access to download your pictures/videos if you are in the UK.

I managed to get my piccies back by logging in using a free VPN, I then swapped to postimages.

As I understand it - UK has a claim against IMGUR who refused to accept.

I use both Photobucket and IMGUR ... but PB is an expensive joke, also PB limits how the photo is shown on a forum - often striking through with PHOTOBUCKET logo ...

I am a Brit living in Latvia - so the limitation does not affect me here ...but recently I was made aware of this UK situation by others on the forum when photos I posted could not be viewed by UK forumites.
I always preferred hosted links for photos instead of uploading to forum servers ... but now that's the way forward .. means you have to reduce size of the file .. but at least everyone can then see it.

I assume if you are in UK - you may have trouble accessing / seeing own archive on IMGUR ? Then a VPN is way forward ... plenty of free ones out there but many are limited as to what you can access .... ie BBC iPlayer - most free VPN's cannot access that outisde UK ..

I moved my photo hosting from Photobucket when the went stupid.
I then used my own internet server to host my photos.
I appreciate that this isn't an option that people really want to do or are capable of doing.
The problem with switching photo hosting is that all your previous links are still pointing at the old photo hosting service so are un available.
At the time that I switched, the guys running this forum gave us a short time in which we could edit our old posts.
So I went back on the posts that were important to me and patched the links to my own server.

This is all historical because I currently use the "insert image" button when making my posts.
The effect of that uploads my images onto the YBW Forum servers.
Hence no need for an alternative hosting service.
However, this forum's "insert image" button confuses most people but it works well once you have understood how it works (or why it doesn't work).
Unlike others (Whatsapp etc) this forum's "insert image" button will only upload small images.
So, I always resize my images before posting them so they upload correctly using the "insert image" button.
When I was running Windows, there was an addon called Prish Resizer which resized images from within the Windows Explorer.
Now that I run a sensible operating system (Linux) that feature is built into my file browser thus making it easy to do.

Of course, the people who run this forum software could do as other systems do, and write some simple Javascript within this forum that would resize any images "on the fly" thus making the "insert image" button work for everyone. Maybe thats too much to ask.

Don't forget many of us have free cloud space with Google Drive, One Drive, iCloud etc that can be put into service to host the image and then provide a link for forums.
That is what I did with my late uncle's photographs, scanned the slides/negatives and uploaded them to Google so that the rest of the family have access to them, he was a prolific photographer and had many awards for his work.
I have still not finished scanning them, done a few thousand so far with lots of nautical scenes as he was a marine architect working for a shipyard's engine works.

I have always used PBASE.com for many years. Originally for free then $23 PA as I wanted more space and some of the extras.
It failed once and was down for a few days whilst they rebuilt it but otherwise been 100%.

My stuff is on www.pbase.com/tr7v8 if you want a nose.
