Photos using Photobucket ??

This is my first attempt ... this month! Has it worked?!

Anders that works for one picture but if you want to post a collection of pictures you are better going into pbucket and

1. find your album
2.. turn organiser on at the top
3. Ctrl click all the pics you want (maximum 20 on this forum)
4 click "Link" at bottom of page

then you get a text block of all the IMG code for ALL the pics and you copy/paste that whole block into your post

Wow - I didn't know that
When I find something that works, often I just plod along and don't look for a better way.
Maybe even more pics now!!

Hi there. No! It would if you deleted everything except the tags and what is between them - see below. If you let p'bucket generate the code automatically it would be right and you wouldn't need to edit is or delete anyhting. In basic photview the [img] code should be right there on the right hand side of the page, read to c+p to a post on here. In "organiser on" mode you can get a whole block of [img] code for multiple pictures to c+p here. But I noticed on your p'bucket page that you have not set your personal settings to tell it you want it to create [img] code aka BBcode. You need to go into settings and do that!
Good luck

Sammy, a bit more info. Here's how to do it

1. Go to your p'bucket, logged in, and click on any of your pictures so you see just that one picture large on your screen
2. Above the picture are grey circles. Click the one with the chain links
3. That opens up a little box. Click the link called "turn on easy linking"
4. Now you are on a page with tick box options. Make sure to tick "IMG code", (not IMG thumb). You can untick some of the others but it doesn't matter
5. Then click something totake you back to home page

Once you've done that, then for ever more:
(a) every time you view a single picture on its own (by clicking its thumbnail in your album) you will see a box to right of photo with the correct IMG code. Just copy and paste that onto here

(b) every time you look at a whole album of thumbnails, you can turn on ""organiser" at the top of the pile of thumbnails. Then you can ctrl-click several thumbnails, then click "generate links" on the grey bar at the bottom right of the page. Hey presto you will get a box on right hand side of page that gives you IMG code for ALL the photos you selected. You can c+p that block of code to a post on this forum, and show loads of pictures in one post. And you can of course type in text between the pictures to create a story

Finally a housekeeping thing. You should set your p'bucket settings to make pictures 640 pixels wide because currently they are too wide for this forum.

Hope that's somewhat clear - I've just splurge typed it and not read it much for logic-icity!

how is this?! Got this from the right hand side box marked IMG but seems too loog and doesn't match your advice (btw Guy here!)

Hi Guy
Alas the box marked IMG stupidly doesn't give you IMG code unless you go into settings as described in the steps above. Give that a go. At least you only have to do it once, then you're done forever!

Just before I make a fast exit towards said bar ....
We've followed the instructions one more time, checked all the settings and here we go ...

Let me know .... Please!!

Talking of p'bucket, did anyone else recently get a couple of pop-up box where IE warns that the website "wants to open an application on your computer", asking to allow or cancel?
I always chose "cancel" so far, and everything seems to work just fine anyway, but the box keeps appearing, which is indeed a PITA...

Following JFM's latest tutorial!

Please tell me this now works so I can go to the bar!

Hi Guy

Nope, not quite there yet.

In photobucket, to the right of the image there's a block headed 'Share links'. The fourth one of these is 'IMG'. Just click in there and the field will briefly turn yellow and say 'Copied'.

What this has done is copy the image code into your clipboard. If you now paste into your post on the forum, it will paste this code:

[URL=http://s739.photobucket.com/user/Sammybeacroft/media/Malabar%20Arrival/IMG_4330_zps0808b4c9.jpg.html][IMG]http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx32/Sammybeacroft/Malabar%20Arrival/IMG_4330_zps0808b4c9.jpg[/IMG][URL]

You can stop there, and this is what you'll get:

[URL]

But it all looks a bit tidier if you strip off the unnecessary url tags (shown in bold here)

[URL=http://s739.photobucket.com/user/Sammybeacroft/media/Malabar%20Arrival/IMG_4330_zps0808b4c9.jpg.html][IMG]http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx32/Sammybeacroft/Malabar%20Arrival/IMG_4330_zps0808b4c9.jpg[/IMG][URL]

So now you are left with this
[IMG]http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx32/Sammybeacroft/Malabar%20Arrival/IMG_4330_zps0808b4c9.jpg[/IMG]

which looks like this:

You've been doing them one-by-one Mike? Yikes! Feeling sorry for you here, esp after your recent Mallorca post!

JFM
Actually, it isn't that difficult doing them one by one
I tend to build the whole post "off line" in a Word doc - pasting the appropriate Photobucket image into the Word doc as I go
That way I get a graphical view of the image that I'm posting - as I go along.
Deciding which pics to upload and writing a story is the bit that takes the time.

Sammy
When you have mastered that, you can add youtube clips to your posts as well.!!!
Actually, it's not that difficult.
Simply upload a video clip to Youtube and make it public
Then paste the Youtube ID inside the following tags
[youtube]xxxxxxxxxx[/youtube]
The xxxxxxxxxx above is the Youtube ID which you can find in the URL for that particular Youtube clip.

So a clip that I've recently uploaded is at this URL (address)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2M8A2pZtNY&list=UUelkoMfNJj8Hdhy_MGNeV4Q
The Youtube ID for my clip is d2M8A2pZtNY - the bit between the = and the &
So to show my Youtube clip interactively on this forum
I would enter this
[youtube]d2M8A2pZtNY[/youtube]
And this is what everyone would see.

Video clips are becoming easier and easier these days to take and add a whole new dimension to our posts.
